Hope has a way of carrying us through life's seasons, reminding us that brighter days are always ahead. Hope Floats is my modern interpretation of the beloved antique Hope for Hartford quilt block. While honoring the rich tradition of this historic design, I reimagined the layout so each star appears to dance effortlessly around its neighbors, creating a quilt full of movement, energy, and joy. The result is a fresh, contemporary design that still feels deeply rooted in quilting history.
This pattern holds a special place in my heart because it was featured in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine's August 2025 issue—an unforgettable milestone in my quilting career. Seeing one of my original designs published in one of the quilting world's most respected magazines was truly a dream come true. Finishing at approximately 66⅝" × 66⅝", Hope Floats is a beautiful throw-sized quilt that's as enjoyable to make as it is to display. The design combines classic piecing with an approachable partial-seam technique, and the pattern includes detailed, full-color diagrams to guide you through every step with confidence.
